Blog Post # 4 "This I Believe"

Everything Happens For A Reason

I believe that everything happens for a reason. I believe that we all subconsciously find ourselves in front of things that were supposed to come across. I think that my love for music brought me to Columbia, despite going through four years of high school. My high school would feed the students different influences, and make you believe that mathematics and science was the only way to make a living. Thus the majority of the students in my high school have majors in mathematics or science in their universities or colleges. However, I stayed strong in my own beliefs since I was in middle school, and continued to pursue my interests in music.

In the beginning, I ran into someone who played the drums, and met two other musicians along the way. One thing led to another, and before I knew it I was performing in different venues. As the performances went by, my love for musical performance began to escalate more and more. People started hearing our band more, and more offers came on the table. The more the offers came, the more dedication we all had to have. Dedication eventually led to consumptions of amplifiers, microphones, and other band equipments. By the end of high school, we all had purchased up to twenty thousand dollars of equipment in total. Due to college, the band had to split into two directions. I am currently with my drummer, and the bassist and guitarist are in the Berklee School of Music in Boston. All of these instances led me to pursue a career and music. As these four years go by, I seek to come across new things that will mold my career together over time.
