Spring Awakening

Spring Awakening is everything you Grandmother would not want watch with you, but is everything that should be watched by your Grandmother.
Spring Awakening is one of my favorite all time musicals! I like this show because it is controversial and its very different when it comes from a performance stand point. It touches on subjects that most musicals do not just shout out!
Because its so controversial people tend to view it as filth. The musical addresses many topics such as sex, rape, insets, masturbation and homosexuality. The musical talks about how people now and in the Victorian age did not talk to their children about sex, and the effects it has on teens as they grow into adulthood. I think Spring Awaken makes a good point as when they sing about raunchy topics! I think this musical should be seen by audiences of all ages that can comprehend what sex is. Some people think that this show is dirty, but I think people should see this show so that they can become comfortable with talking about such delicate subjects.
The music to this show absolutely is awesome. I like the fact that they made this show from the book Spring Awakening by Steven Sater. They take his words and express it so uniquely in the show. I also like the music in the play. Because its rock music, it separates itself from the stereotypical musical genre of show tune mu
